This is the 1973 Airstream Sovereign Land Yacht. We picked her up on the Austin Craigslist.
My good friend Patrick and I drove out to Kyle Texas to pick her up. Luckily we thought to bring a set of trailer lights to hook onto her bumper. Just in case the trailer's lights didn't work.

The light bar worked out great and after a little trial and error we had the beast hitched to Pat's truck and were rolling down the road. The seller gave me a great tip when buying an old/ questionable trailer. As soon as you hook her up, tow her down the road for a mile going really really slow. Get out and feel the hubs for heat. If they're really hot you have a problem. No grease, call a tow truck. If they are cool, get back in the TV (tow vehicle) and take it up to 12-15 mph and put another two miles on. Check the hubs again. Still cool? Congratulations. The 1973 grease in your bearings was able to melt and flow throughout the hubs and you should be able to tow with no problems. We still checked them periodically throughout the trip. You should too.
